Colleton County School District Office of Student Nutrition believes that Hungry Minds Can Not Learn; Therefore, Colleton County School District agrees with the SC Department of Education Office of Health and Nutrition when they say: "Research has shown that participation in the School Breakfast Program improves a child's school preparedness and long-term dietary intake. In addition, children who participated in the School Breakfast Program had significantly higher standardized achievement test scores than eligible non participants, as well as reduced absence and tardiness rates. For these reasons, the School Breakfast Program is an important part of education for South Carolina school students."
